Bio

Serhat KUT,Ph.D is a multi­tasking researcher, academician, designer, architect (B.Arch), urban designer (M.sc), technology consultant, business developer, strategic planner, and Augmented Reality (AR) specialist, mainly focusing on architectural design and experience of space, user experience design, human­technology­space interaction, visual communication/representation and education technology. He received his B.Arch and M.Sc. in Urban Design degrees from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Istanbul and his Ph.D. degree in Architectural Design from Istanbul Technical University with his dissertation entitled: “The Cyber­tectonic Space”.

Cyber­tectonic Experience of Space: Re-Understanding Space in the cybernetic age.

The “Cybertectonic Space” provides a new experience of space, where cybernetic data is embedded into the layers of space. This multi­layered space can only be experienced through bodies which are extended with cybernetic extensions. This presentation seeks the indications of emerging space which is becoming possible with new technologies and interfaces, through the continuous process of human dwelling and Being, regarding architecture’s main problematic; the space and the spatial experience.

He is a Professor of Architectural Design at Istanbul Kültür University, instructing Architectural Design Studio Courses and additionally he teaches Architecture in the Cybernetic Age,Visual Communication in Architecture, Computer Aided Presentation,BIM, and Portfolio Design courses.

He conducted research as a visiting researcher at Salford University, UK Digital Architectural Design Programme in 2011 and instructed Architectural Design Studio course as a Guest Professor at Yıldız Technical University,Istanbul in 2014.
